Creating spaces to interact with science is an integral part of fostering a healthy community.

The clouds looked troublesome. Still there was an air of excitement for what inclement weather can bring to a river. As I walked around the pier I heard the energy of children. The Hudson River Project holds an annual event called Release of the Fishes. Here children can explore what our humble Hudson River has to offer in the form of wildlife. I was surprised by the patience every child had to find a friendly fish. One by one they took their turns carrying a bucket and subsequently returning their friend to the river. Seeing the excitement of the children reinvigorates the community by planting seeds of fascination.
